Last Update :7/22/2010 Wee One Foundation Event a Big Success
The Wee One Foundation event took place July 19 at Cypress Creek Golfers Club. The event raises money to support superintendents who have financial hardship due to illness of themselves or a family member. Phil Bailey, CGCS hosted the event at his club, which donated all green fees and cart fees to maximize the benefit to the Foundation. Around 80 players participated. Below is a letter from Phil, highlighting the success of the event.
July 22, 2010
Dear Friends:
Once again your generosity to the Wee One Foundation and Gove family has been overwhelming. With a combined total from the Wee One Foundation tournament at Cypress Creek Golfers’ Club and $5000 from the Wee One Foundation Board we generated $14,865 to assist Hunter Grove, son of Ian Grove.
The donations we raised are only a start for Hunter Grove’s bone marrow transplant. Young Hunter and his family now have a long and tough road to follow. My thoughts go out to the Grove family and my prayers are for great results. Once again I cannot thank all of you enough for your strong support for our friends and colleagues when they are in need.
Sincerely,
Phil Bailey, CGCS Cypress Creek Golfers’ Club Smithfield Virginia
